Todd Queen, Chief of Rockmart Fire and Emergency Services, worked his way up through the ranks and was promoted Chief of the department in 2005.
He maintains a career staff of 14 to include assignments in suppression and rescue, public safety education and training.
Rockmart Fire Station
Currently the department operates out of one station, located at 651 Goodyear Ave., within the city. The station was originally constructed and manned in 1992. Additions to the station in 2001 made the station a 4 bay station with drive-through access, and expanded the training room.
The addition to the station was made to accommodate the growth within the department for acquisition of future manpower and equipment.
All personnel within the department receive a minimum of 240 training hours per year.
The topics of training include all technical aspects of fire suppression, tactics, building construction, water supply, apparatus operations, technical rope rescue, emergency medical, hazardous materials, and more.
