The City of Rockmart’s Adopt-a-Trail Program has been developed to encourage community participation in the improvement of Rockmart parks, trails, and green spaces. This volunteer opportunity is open to civic and not-for-profit organizations; church, school, and scout groups; and local businesses to assist in basic care and maintenance of the Silver Comet Trail as it runs through the city.
Each participating group assumes responsibility for a trail section and agrees to participate in improvement and maintenance of that area: a minimum of four times a year for a minimum of one year. The City of Rockmart will provide an orientation to the adopting group to determine the appropriate maintenance activities for the area. After the initial orientation, the volunteers should be self-directed in managing their maintenance activities but should coordinate work with Rockmart’s Recreation Department.
All applications must be submitted to Delmos Stone via email at Dstone@rockmart-ga.gov or in person at the City of Rockmart Municipal Complex, Community Development Department located at 316 North Piedmont Avenue.
