The Rockmart Water Pollution Control Plant was complete in 1996. It is a sequencing batch reactor (SBR) type plant designed to treat 3 million gallons average daily flow with a biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) and suspended solids (SS) removal efficiency of 90% or better. Effluent disinfection is accomplished by means of chlorination. Digested biosolids are dewatered with a 2.0 meter belt filter press.
